Department Overview

OHSU HEALTH at Hillsboro Medical Center

 

The OHSU Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time physician to join our thriving and growing team at Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC). HMC is a traditional community department and located on the west side of Portland/Hillsboro with a growing population. The Dept of Neurology serves a diverse patient population. HMC is a Nationally recoginized stroke center by the American Stroke Association and also features a cardiac catheterization lab, providing comprehensive care to the surrounding region. Many OHSU Marquam Hill departments now provide specialty services on-site, creating a unique blend of academic and community services. 

 

The department has a dedicated team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) serving the patient population, primarily treating the following:

  • Migraines and Headaches
  • Stroke
  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Epilepsy
  • Neuropathy
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s disease and tremors

  

Function/Duties of Position

Clinical Responsibilities include 9 outpatient sessions per week for general neurology services at the Hillsboro Medical Clinic location.  Distribution of EEG interpretations will depend on strong experience of candidate.

 

Participate in Departmental activities consistent with this position and with the understanding that this position requires a focus and dedication to Neurology outpatient clinical practice. 

Required Qualifications

* A qualified candidate must have a current unlimited Oregon MD (or equivalent) license prior to start date.

* Board eligible or certifed Neurologist

*  The provider must complete the credentialing process and be approved by the OHSU Professional Board to practice as an independent practitioner.

*  The provider must be registered with Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and be authorized to prescribe medications prior to start date.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law.

Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.

Regular and consistent attendance at work.
