Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm

Function/Duties of Position

This position is located in the Oral Radiology Clinic within the School of Dentistry. This position interfaces with dental students, dental residents, dental hygienists, dental assistants, the director of Radiology, and faculty.

 

The primary purpose of this position is to provide educational training to the dental students while delivering quality dental services, quality care and compassion to our patients. The Dental Radiologic Technologist is critical to the training of the dental students in image receptor placement (sensor or phosphor plates) and asepsis techniques, radiograph philosophy, exposure and processing for both intra oral and extra oral radiographic images, to include cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), panoramic radiograph, and cephalometric radiograph.

 

Required Qualifications

  • One year of experience conducting dental radiological exams including, but not limited to, intraoral radiographs, panoramic radiograph, cephalometric radiograph, and cone-beam CT scans
  • Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological proficiency
  • Valid American Heart Association BLS certificate 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Completion of a recognized Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene program
  • Experience using Axium
