Department Overview

The Oregon Stem Cell Center conducts basic and applied research in the field of Stem Cell Biology with the long term goal to harness the properties of stem cells for regenerative medicine and cell therapy.

Function/Duties of Position

The Oregon Stem Cell Center within the Department of Pediatrics is hiring a Non OHSU Student Worker. 

 

Primary duties will include but not limited to:

  • Preparing reagents, washing labware, and cleaning/organizing lab areas
  • Molecular biology (Maxi/Mini Preps, PCR genotyping)
  • Take instruction from researchers and assist with experimental preparation and collection

Required Qualifications

Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in:

  • High School, OR
  • Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours), OR
  • Graduate Program minimum 4.5 credit hours)

Additional Details

This lab works with Rodents, so willingness to be around Rodent experiments and euthanasia is essential. Responsibilities may occasionally entail working with hazardous reagents.
