Department Overview

The Department of Medical Informatics & Clinical Epidemiology (DMICE) is one of 27 academic departments in the School of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). DMICE provides research, education, and service in the areas of clinical informatics, clinical epidemiology, and bioinformatics/computational biomedicine. DMICE programs are recognized internationally for their accomplishment and innovation.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Assist with the preparation of evidence synthesis products (e.g., rapid reviews, adapted topic briefs) for clinical decisionmakers.
  • Research and analyze the context of the question(s) that clients are asking and assist with converting questions into structured, answerable research questions.
  • Assist with identification of relevant research studies, additional grey literature, clinical practice guidelines, and policy documents.
  • Critically evaluate the risk of bias and applicability of included research studies and clinical practice guidelines with support from investigators.
  • Create and manage references in a citation management software program (e.g., EndNote).

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing evidence synthesis products (e.g., systematic reviews, rapid reviews)

  • Knowledge of systematic review software and tools
