Department Overview

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Clinical Nutrition and the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center provides expert care for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings. In addition to our commitment to outstanding clinical care, we are proud of our extensive research programs, our educational missions, and our fellowship training program.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Duties for device development involve assisting engineers and clinicians in device validation testing and assisting in preparation of FDA applications. This entails working extensively with diabetes technology and our custom smart phone diabetes management software applications. 
  • Duties for clinical studies involve recruiting and screening subjects, managing study supplies, prepping devices for studies, scheduling and running of study visits, handling of subject samples and preparing for lab analysis, performing data analysis of study data, and attending staff meetings. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in relevant field OR Associate's AND 2 years of relevant experience OR 3 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Coordinating research protocols with other staff.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must have attention to details to satisfactory complete and perform job duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in biological/research laboratory

  • Previous experience coordinating Clinical trials

  • Previous experience with advanced computer skills such as coding using MATLAB or PYTHON. 

  • Previous experience with technology, smart phone applications

  • Knowledge of diabetes

Additional Details

Exposure to human fluids. Work week schedule requires flexibility in evenings and possibly overnight monitoring to meet demands of research patient visit schedules.
