Diasgnostic Respiratory Therapists provide coverage for discharge planning, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, and clinic support in accordance with hospital and departmental guidelines as ordered by the physicians. Supplement adult and pediatric respiratory care when required.
This is a Diagnostic Respiratory Position. Duties include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, other respiratory diagnostic tests, and patient education. Work units include all inpatient and outpatient care areas on Marquam Hill and the South Waterfront. Respiratory Therapists at OHSU provide bedside and outpatient respiratory care modalities in accordance with hospital and departmental guidelines as ordered by healthcare providers.

A current, valid Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner's (LRCP) credential issued by the Health Licensing Office for the State of Oregon and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Compliance with Code of Conduct, Respect in the workplace and Applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Work location in sometimes noisy patient care areas. 12 hour shifts. Possible exposure to blood, body fluids, airborn pathogens, magnetic fields, and radiation.
