The purpose of this position is to support the Brenden-Colson Center for Pancreatic Care in contributing to its research studies and repository of biological specimens and data, by consenting patients, collecting tissue and blood samples in collaboration with OHSU clinics, ensuring implementation of our Early Detection clinical research study protocols. This person is also responsible for the safe storage and accurate recording of the samples collected, and for IRB submissions and regulatory documentation. You will have the opportunity to interact with several different OHSU clinics, physicians and researchers and will be part of a dedicated translational research team aiming to make a real difference for cancer patients and early detection of pancreas disease. Responsibilities will include picking up human specimens in the clinic, chart review, clinic schedule monitoring, data entry, informing potential patients about pancreas research studies, consenting and enrolling appropriate patients, and querying databases of participants in multiple studies. Employee will also participate in community events as needed to help recruit study subjects. Professional and caring demeanor and appropriate attire is required for patient and provider interactions.
