The Labor & Delivery Unit has 12 labor suites with jetted Jacuzzi tubs, a 4 bed triage area, 3 dedicated operating rooms, and a 2 bay PACU. We provide patient care for our most complex and fragile patients as well as to patients who prefer low intervention births. We have a robust midwifery practice that also promotes underwater birth. OHSU also has a specialized program coordinated by our maternal fetal medicine providers, neonatologist, pediatric surgeons and specialty care coordinators who help coordinate care so our families have all the cutting-edge care at their fingertips. • External applicants: Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Degree from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)

• Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (NRP) from American Heart Association at time of hire

Department Specific Preferences (competencies, certifications, etc.):

• 1-2 years previous experience in a high risk obstetric labor & delivery unit
• Fluency in Spanish or other languages
• Inpatient obstetric or advanced fetal monitoring certification
• Surgical circulating and surgical scrub experience also desirable

Length of Orientation – New Graduate Nurse

• External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.
• Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Residency Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for about 10-26 weeks depending on the care area. An employment service agreement may apply.
