The OHSU Division of General Medicine & Geriatrics has built an integrated team practice model for delivering high quality medical care and service to the patients we serve. Primary Care has a mission and values-driven culture, which includes patient care, academia, teaching, research and leadership. Commitment to excellence in patient care is mirrored in the culture, compensation and benefits enjoyed by clinicians and employees. Our practice also includes innovative models for delivering structured care to populations of patients with chronic conditions.
This service serves as a training site for the OHSU Geriatric Medicine Fellowship, as well as for select OHSU and non-OHSU medical and non-physician trainees. Teaching should include bedside rounds and focus on techniques of eliciting a geriatrics-focused history and physical examination, expanding clinical reasoning and critical thinking, and applying and reviewing current best evidence for geriatrics practice. Teaching faculty are expected to provide pre-rotation orientation, mid-term formative feedback, and post-rotation verbal and written feedback.
The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship as directed by their department. Additional funding support is potentially available for the exemplary candidate who has experience in quality initiative work and is assigned to help lead facility-wide age-friendly health system efforts.
