Function/Duties of Position

As a member of the OHSU Department of Orthopaedics, and Adventist Health Portland Orthopedics, you will report to the OHSU Department Chair of Orthopaedics and will be responsible for duties in the areas outlined below.

  • Clinical: The Department Chair will work with you to develop your clinical and operative schedule. Your duties will include inpatient, outpatient and surgical service activities for sports medicine orthopedic surgical services at OHSU and Adventist Health Portland.
  • Call: This position will be expected to take call at the Adventist Health Portland hospital, as assigned, with other orthopedic providers on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Sport Medicine Team: Work in collaboration with the Sports Medicine team to support athletic Team Physician contracts including local area school districts, colleges/universities, and professional sports teams.
  • Education: OHSU is a teaching facility and you may have the opportunity to teach medical students and residents in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year.
  • Research: There are resources available for start-up research and on-going support via established processes and opportunities. Those interested in doing research may be eligible to apply for departmental research assistance and non-clinical time through the Director of Research.

Required Qualifications

  • M.D. or equivalent degree/training; completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency; completion of sports medicine fellowship preferred.
    • Must be Board Certified, or reach Board Certification approval within one year of hire.
