The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement, and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions
The primary purpose of this position is to provide strategic management for the OHSU Information Technology Group’s (ITG) the Network Services teams who perform analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, security, and optimization of OHSU local and wide area (LAN/WAN) wired and wireless networks, data center networks, and associated infrastructure.
This position is responsible for defining and implementing a strategy for delivering network infrastructure and services to support all OHSU missions. Specifically, the incumbent is responsible for all enterprise network infrastructure and services. This position manages the Network Architecture and Engineering (NWAE) work unit, and the Network Access and Operations (NWAO) work unit, which includes a mix of on-site and remote staff. These work units directly support mission critical patient care and life-safety technology systems. Responsibilities include LAN/WAN networking equipment and operating systems; LAN/WAN architecture and design; Metro, State, and regional fiber infrastructure; Data Center fabric infrastructure for a Primary Data Center as well as a Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Data Center; cloud networking integration; VPN; Wireless networking technologies, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Network Monitoring, and business partner network integration.
The position is highly integrated with the ITG security, server, storage, application, and infrastructure work units to architect a safe, secure and effective computing environment for OHSU and partner organizations. As Director of technical teams that architect, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise networking systems and applications for the University, Research, and Healthcare missions, the incumbent is responsible for technical leadership, project management, and balancing team priorities, while ensuring that high quality customer service is delivered in compliance with OHSU Information Privacy and security, policies, and procedures.
This position oversees existing contracts with a variety of information technology vendors including infrastructure equipment providers, enterprise software providers, and hardware vendors. The incumbent must plan and oversee
capital projects and maintain capital and operational budgets for all roles within this position. The incumbent must be able to balance, integrate, and manage technological missions and customer relations with the propriety and diplomacy required for implementation of effective enterprise collaboration solutions.
Education:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in MIS, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
