This position is for a Senior Research Assistant in the Knight Cardiovascular Institute, supporting research focused on vascular biology and pulmonary physiology (asthma). Applicant must have previous research laboratory experience with handing rodents. They will perform experiments individually and as a member of a research team. Senior Research Assistant will be required to perform immunohistochemistry, western blotting, managing cell cultures, managing rodent colonies, and performing ELISA experiments and assist in surgery.
Bachelor's in relevant field AND 1 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience in animal handling, rodent husbandry and genotyping
Experience in molecular biology applications including but not limited to western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and quantitative PCR
Familiarity with cell culture techniques
Experience in analysis of experimental data
Experience in cardiovascular research
Background in animal models of asthma preferred
Familiarity with rodent surgeries
Experience in laboratory compliance with OHSU IACUC, DCM, Biosafety, and radiation safety and DEA for use of controlled substances
Experience in scientific writing
