Function/Duties of Position

The position involves working on research projects in the Balance Disorders Laboratory, related to quantitative assessment of cortical activity during gait in people with Parkinson’s disease under various conditions (Off and On medication as well as with cueing). The person will work independently and be instrumental in study design, data collection, and analysis, as well as writing of manuscripts and presentation of results at conferences. The position also requires supervision of research assistants and summer undergraduate/high school students working on these projects, and collaboration with clinical investigators in the Neurology Department. 

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Movement Science/Physical therapy
  • Experience with human subject research studies; experience analyzing and publishing research studies; and experience working with patients who have neurological disorders.
  • Research methodology and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties to meet milestones of grants.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data analysis using mobile imaging and wearable sensors.

Additional Details

Ability to prevent a fall in persons with balance disorders.
