    The purpose of this position is to participate in the OHSU Neuroscience postbaccalaureate opportunity. The goal of the opportunity is to prepare candidates for successful application to, and entrance into, graduate research programs in neuroscience by gaining sustained, hands-on experience in laboratory research and receiving mentored support from faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and current graduate students.

    Function/Duties of Position

    1. Performance of laboratory research with training in modern neuroscience concepts and techniques.

    2. Participation in journal clubs, lab meetings, graduate courses, skills enrichment, professional identity enrichment, and research papers.

    3. Meeting standards of the program as set by the program director and the participant’s research mentor with regard to effective communication with peers, lab personnel and program personnel.

    Bachelor’s degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    Intent in pursue a graduate research degree (Ph.D.)

    You should also be prepared in your application to provide information about other work experience and what you hope to gain from doing the postbacc, and the names of 3-5 faculty that you would like to work with from our list of participating faculty.
