The Laboratory of Immunogenetics and Transplantation (LIT) is the support laboratory for the local transplant programs. LIT Laboratory serves Oregon Health & Science University transplant programs (kidney, heart, pancreas, liver and bone marrow), the VA transplant program (kidney, pancreas, liver), Legacy Health Systems combined transplant programs (kidney & pancreas), Providence Hospital (heart) and the Pacific Northwest Transplant Bank (PNTB), an OPO.
The Laboratory Section Coordinator utilizes their technical expertise in HLA to support coordination of daily operations, testing development and validation, reporting (OHSU & UNOS), assisting with instrument and software upgrades, quality control, and helps to maintain accuracy of all written procedures. This position will oversee waitlist data management, including running weekly UNOS data QC reports to ascertain accuracy of
waitlist data entry when recipients are placed on the UNOS transplant waitlist.

Job Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Competencies):
The schedule is 5 days per pay period and may be flexible. Traveleling between laboratories and sites by stairs, elevator, tram, shuttle or other means; exposure to blood and body fluids, chemical hazards; wearing glove and other personal protective equipment for long periods of time.
