The Pediatric Phlebotomy Laboratory at Doernbecher Children's Hospital provides compassionate and efficient care to individuals, families, communities, and patient populations. Positioned as a walk-in service that operates Monday through Friday, the phlebotomy lab can service between 50-70 patients daily.
The phlebotomist in this position collects blood, urine, stool, and sputum specimens from pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting, as ordered by healthcare providers, for use in performing diagnostic or prognostic tests and provides related clerical, transporting, and non-technical support to the laboratory.

Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
Monday through Friday, business hours between 7am and 7pm but not uncommon for early mornings for meetings. Constant exposure to usual hospital environmental conditions including possible exposure to blood and body fluids for which staff is provided education and protective equipment to minimize risk.
