The Senior Clinical Research Assistant role is responsible for supporting a team of physicians and scientists who are health services researchers using a variety of mixed methods approaches and implementation science to improve outcomes of seriously ill patients. We have a variety of research projects focused on improving quality of care, medical decision-making, clinician-patient communication, healthcare resource utilization, and the efficiency/value of our healthcare delivery system. Duties include preparing documentation for grant and IRB applications, coordinating various administrative tasks, conducting chart reviews, analyzing qualitative and quantitative research data, maintaining electronic databases, and assisting with research papers for publication. Skills include attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Expertise in statistical software and other specialized software for analysis in addition to grant and budget preparation experience preferred. Highly motivated individuals with strong verbal and written communication skills, an interest in working in a collaborative team environment, and who utilize innovative problem-solving to achieve scientific objectives are encouraged to apply. The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine provides expert diagnosis and care of patients with lung diseases in our Pulmonary Clinic, and of critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit. Our clinical interests include all areas of lung disease and critical illness. Coding transcripts for analysis using specialized software, conducting analysis of qualitative and quantitative research data, keeping organized and detailed research records, and maintaining electronic databases.

Recruiting patients for research projects, explaining study objectives, and conducting initial questionnaires. Communicating effectively and empathetically with patients and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Reviewing medical records to gather research data, assisting Research Assistants with regards to transcription and input of written and recorded data into database.
Bachelor’s Degree (4 yr) with major courses in field of research or Social Sciences AND 1 year of relevant experience
