The Registered Nurse (RN) working as a member of an inter-disciplinary team is integral to Clinical Transplant Services. The RN functions as a liaison between the patients and staff members of the transplant team (physicians, social worker, financial counselor, psychiatrists, etc.) and has the primary responsibility for providing direct and indirect professional nursing care for transplant patients.
Provide ongoing patient/family education; participate in on-site transplant clinics; facilitate referrals to appropriate health care professionals; triage and respond to patient phone calls, MyChart, and RightFax requests; assess potential or actual patient health problems, recognizing and responding to emergent situations; document according to established policies and procedures.
Perform additional RN responsibilities which can include inpatient education, participating in discharge rounds and coordinating discharge needs with inter-disciplinary team, biopsy teaching, ordering, and follow up, coordination/routing of refill requests, etc. To include Pre and Post phases of transplant and any urgent living donor needs.
Develop, coordinate, and implement changes in the nursing process as it relates to transplant; assume responsibility for professional/job related development; incorporate quality improvement practices into performance.

Associate of Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)
*BSN preferred
*Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program with 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.
Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools.
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.
Obtain unencumbered Washington RN license within 2 months of hire date.
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
