The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at OHSU seeks a full-time, qualified academic Gynecologist with subspecialty training in Complex Family Planning. In alignment with the strategic vision of the hospital, the preferred areas of clinical care, research and education will be focused on medical and surgical abortion, contraception for medically complicated patients, management of complex IUD/implant placement and removal, tubal and non-tubal ectopic and early abnormal pregnancies, and permanent contraception.
The successful candidate will have a clinical Gynecology practice focused on complex family planning. Clinical responsibilities will include Gynecology outpatient clinics, surgical Gynecology and full participation in the Gynecology call pool. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the department’s educational responsibilities as well as clinical and research activities.
The Associate Professor is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as an MD, with completion of an Ob/Gyn Residency, independent surgical experience necessary to provide a full-scope practice, and with demonstrated evidence and subspecialty training in Complex Family Planning. The Associate Professor is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. The Associate Professor shall provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services at OHSU and OHSU Health partner sites as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The Associate Professor is expected to comply with all laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.

Like all OHSU faculty members, Associate Professors are expected to have some scholarly activity, this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Associate Professor faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.
This position provides clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations. The Associate Professor may also help with clinical teaching of nurse and APP trainees. As part of the multidisciplinary team charged with educating learners in the outpatient clinic environment, this person would be expected to provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, of learners working in obstetrics and gynecology.
