Department Overview

Primary Care at Beaverton is located in Beaverton, Oregon. It is a multi-specialty primary care clinic consisting of Internal and Family Medicine Providers who provide healthcare that encompasses the entire life cycle, from birth through pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Specialty services provided at Beaverton include Sports Medicine.

 

  • External Candidates: Vacation, paid or unpaid leave requests up to 8-weeks from the start date are not permitted. All other vacation, paid or unpaid leave requests are subject to compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between ONA and OHSU.
  • Internal Nurse Candidates: All vacation, paid or unpaid leave requests are subject to compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between ONA and OHSU. Pre-scheduled vacations or leave plans must be disclosed prior to consideration for hire to determine the start

Function/Duties of Position

Beaverton Primary Care Practice serves patients in the Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties as well as surrounding counties in Oregon and SW Washington State.   The primary patient population ranges 18 years of age to death.  The patients are generally moderately stable to moderately unstable and require medical and nursing interventions including, intravenous fluids, oral, inhaled, topical and injectable medications, foot care, triaging, care coordination and management of patient populations, education, pain management, and behavioral and/or crisis management.  Visit types offered at Beaverton Primary Care are: In-person, virtual, telephone.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years or more, within the last three years, experience working in direct patient care 
  • BSN or ADN in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 
  • Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
  • BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) -  must not expire during orientation
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ambulatory care experience, preferred.
  • Ambulatory Telephone Triage experience, preferred.

Additional Details

Length of Orientation – Experienced Nurse

  • External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.
  • Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area. An employment service agreement may apply.
