Department Overview

The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. We are working to center social justice in our internal and external work as a school and are committed to addressing structural and institutional racism, and to holding ourselves accountable to this work.

 

The Infectious Diseases Research Group is based out of the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. The group specializes in evaluations of infectious disease, in individual patients and the population as a whole. The group’s experts are national leaders in two rare diseases that predominantly affect the lungs – nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM disease), and bronchiectasis.

Function/Duties of Position

This student worker position will primarily provide general administrative support for IDRG, including:

  • Filing and scanning research documents
  • Scheduling and maintaining Outlook calendars 
  • Organizing storage rooms.
  • Taking notes during meetings.
  • Occasional data entry and report generation.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Graduate Program minimum 4.5 credit hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to demonstrate effective time management.
  • Must be able to maintain compliance with organizational guidelines and policies.
  • Experience working in a clinical research setting
  • Knowledge of OHSU systems and medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal comminication and proficeincy in MS Office Suite; meticulous record keeping and organization skills.

Additional Details

Several days a week, up to a total of 20 hours per week. The scheduled days will be decided between the student worker and the hiring manager. Work schedule shold be flexible and will vary depending on study needs.
