The OHSU Electrician provides skilled, journey-level technical support for periodic testing, corrective maintenance, minor modifications and updates of the OHSU electrical infrastructure. Typical duties include performing system maintenance and repairs, performing simulated electrical outage testing, providing electrical support for equipment maintenance and documenting results.
The position is also responsible for supporting various other electronic systems such as power metering, fire alarms, specialized equipment alarms, power plant operations, and engine-driven generators. The work will be performed in all OHSU owned and designated leased buildings both on and off the Marquam Hill campus. This position reports to the Utilities and Energy Manager.
Possession of one of the following Oregon Electrician's Licenses appropriate to the work to be performed:
Working Conditions
Working conditions for this position may include any of the following: Working outside in inclement weather, environments containing dust, odor, high levels of noise, high temperatures, and exposure to dirt, biological, chemical, or radiological hazards. In addition, you may be required to crawl into small, cramped spaces, work from ladders, scaffolds, or other above ground locations including high, sloping roofs, working around moving machinery and in confined spaces.
This position requires, walking, standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift and carrying objects that weigh up to 50 pounds. Employees are required to use all applicable OSHA approved safety apparatus when working around any hazardous condition or environment.
