Department Overview

This position is for a researcher to work on a computational cell biology project. Pipelines to analyze cellular morphodynamical behavior observed in live-cell imaging were developed by a prior researchers in the group.  The RA2 will apply those pipelines to new data and make revisions to the existing code to accommodate additional imaging data.  This is a part-time position, 10 hours per week.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Conduct computational research on cell behavior. Must troubleshoot results and amend code as needed.
  • Coordinates work with collaborators – e.g. data transfer when needed.
  • Reviews and analyzes literature related to the project, stays up to date with developments in the field of the project.
  • Assists in writing scientific publications that report project data and results.
  • Presents data and results related to the project.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in relevant field OR
    Associate's AND
  • 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Coding experience in multiple environments, coursework in math, physics, and biology.

  • Strong quantitative skills, Python coding expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with computational modeling, image analysis.

Additional Details

As a part time position, the work schedule will be arranged with the supervisor, but the RA2 must be available for 2 hours of meetings during 9am-5pm as specified by the supervisor.
