The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) provides expert care for patients with lung diseases, allergies and immunological disorders, sleep disorders, and post-critical illness needs in our outpatient clinics, pulmonary and allergy patients in our hospitals, and critically ill patients in our intensive care units. In addition to our commitment to outstanding clinical care, we are proud of our extensive research programs from basic science to clinical trials. The advanced practice provider (APP) provides patient care in a multidisciplinary team model in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The Medical Intensive Care Unit treats a wide range of medically critically ill patients. Care in the MICU follows evidence-based guidelines and clinical pathways developed by the multidisciplinary team. The APP faculty works in collaboration with faculty physicians, fellows and residents to provide high quality clinical care and provide education and training to learners. The APP faculty works in conjunction with other faculty and OHSU leadership to promote OHSU's missions of excellence in patient care, teaching, research, and public service in a 24/7/365 environment; as well as the strategic goals to excel in patient safety, quality, cost-effective and efficient care. Nocturnist position: APPs hired as ‘nocturnists’ cover overnight shifts for a particular service line. The minimum differential for nocturnist positions should be 20% and can be met by an increase in compensation, a decrease in clinical hour requirements per FTE, or a combination of both. Nocturnist compensation is subject to adjustment related to institutional or contractual changes.
