OHSU Occupational Health is seeking counselors to join a growing team of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of the entire OHSU workforce. These counselors will support employees by providing mental health resource navigation and bridge counseling services with the goal of reducing the psychological and emotional impact and harm from workplace events, circumstances, interpersonal/interprofessional dynamics, and culture. Some examples of how workplace events affect employees include burnout, traumatization, feelings of moral injury or overwhelm, suicidal ideation, compassion fatigue, and others.
The Occupational Health Counselor (OHC) is an experienced and qualified professional able to respond promptly, ethically, and independently during complex situations and have an in-depth understanding of workplace conditions and risks impacting mental health and be able to confidently navigate internal and external resources available. The OHC will partner closely with well-being stakeholders across OHSU to identify trends and ongoing challenges impacting the OHSU workforce.
The Occupational Health Counselor (OHC) is expected to ensure that employee care and initiatives are compassionate, multiculturally responsive, trauma informed, and inclusive of employees with varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities and cultural backgrounds.
