Join Our Mission to Improve Pediatric Health: Research Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to contribute to impactful clinical, administrative, regulatory, and educational research within the Department of Pediatrics. This role focuses on supporting exciting research in the division of Cardiology, ultimately improving the lives of children with complex health needs.

Your Impact:

As a Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in advancing research aimed at improving outcomes for pediatric patients. You will directly contribute to two primary projects that address important health challenges:

  • Join a multi-center international study investigating the utility of cardiac MRI and genetics to improve risk prediction for sudden death in children with HCM. This study, involving approximately 70 centers, aims to shape future care strategies for these vulnerable patients. Your work will help provide valuable insights into this life-saving heart surgery, with support from the NIH.

What You'll Do:

  • Support both clinical and regulatory activities for ongoing pediatric research projects
  • Coordinate data collection, manage patient information, and ensure accurate documentation of research protocols
  • Contribute to educational initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge in pediatric cardiology
  • Liaise with Principal Investigators and Research Coordinators at all centers, ensuring the project stays on target.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in relevant field AND 1 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must be able to work independently with little oversight, be highly detailed oriented with accurate attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills. 
  • Must be self-starter and be able to prioritize tasks in fast paced environment.
  • Intermediate and experienced knowledge of Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs. 
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly, and demonstrate a high level of customer service to other members of the health care team both at OHSU and outside entities. 
  • Must be able to appreciate and cultivate a diverse study population. 
  • Experience working with computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience with Institutional Review Board protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification from an appropriate accredited certifying body (e.g. ACRP or SOCRA).
