The OHSU Casey Eye Institute (Casey) Community Outreach Program supports Casey's mission to end preventable blindness in Oregon, and broader goals of OHSU2025. As a donor funded program with a mission to serve communities who experience barriers to basic vision care across Oregon, this position provides critical operation and driving duties to ensure the safe operation(s) of the program's Mobile Health Units (MHUs), in coordination with program staff. Pay Range: $19.97 - $26.62 per hour, Commensurate with Experience
Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Driving Responsibilities
Community Clinic Support
Other duties as assigned by program staff, or physician on site.
High School or GED equivalent
6 months of professional driving experience using vehicles such as shuttles, sedans, vans, and box trucks.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team with great accuracy and efficiency
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete projects independently.
Ability to work with diverse individuals including volunteers, medical professionals, students, underserved populations, patients, and community partners.
Ability to operate and communicate effectively and professionally.
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks with interruptions.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
Current Driver’s license and driving record that meets OHSU’s driving requirements.
Experience driving large vehicles and/or RVs.
Experience in community outreach, working with schools and/or health care agencies
Work throughout Oregon required, including some weekends and overnight travel required, (up to 100%), shifts can range from 8-12 hours during community-based outreach events.
