Department Overview

The Nechiporuk Lab focuses on the basic research concerning development of the peripheral system in zebrafish.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide.
  • The student worker will help with daily operations of a 500-tank zebrafish facility.
  • Primary responsibilities consist of facility and systems maintenance, feeding adult and larval zebrafish, and accurate documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in an Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduates who are pursuing science majors preferred but not required.
  • Basic laboratory skills.

Additional Details

Work is generally 10 hours per week during normal working hours, however, some evening and weekend work will be necessary on occasion. Additional Laboratory safety training is required. Working with laboratory animals is required.
