Department Overview

The Oregon National Primate Center (ONPRC) is located 12 miles west of the OHSU main campus, and sits on 162 acres of land featuring forested areas, research and administration buildings, indoor and outdoor animal housing, and 2-mile perimeter walking path. Our mission is to improve human health and the quality of life through the support of nonhuman primate research programs that advance our knowledge of the causes, preventions, treatments, and cures of debilitating diseases.

Function/Duties of Position

A Senior Systems/Applications Analyst position is available immediately in the Lab of Don Conrad at OHSU. We are seeking an innovative individual who is creative in solving problems and in meeting objectives in a timely manner. The Senior Systems/Applications Analyst will be responsible for the overall analysis, system design, development and support of SATINN, a software developed in the Conrad lab for the automated analysis of testis histology images. A significant portion of this position is to provide consultation to others; training staff and customers in setting up and using SATINN for their own research purposes.

  • Designs, develops and documents modifications to SATINN.
  • Provides on-going support, follow-up and maintenance to SATINN.
  • Provides consultation to and training of others, including new clients who wish to use SATINN.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

  • Eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Extensive knowledge of SATINN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in computer science or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of developing and implementing computer software, especially with regard to image analysis.
  • Knowledge of testis biology.

Additional Details

Remote, up to 10 hours per week for 6 months.

This job requires extensive time sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
