Department Overview

The OPP Program Administrator provides assistance in the development, installation, and administration of compensation programs and incentive plans for the faculty and clinician roles in the OHSU Practice Plan (OPP) and School of Medicine. This position supports the clinical and business needs for the implementation and ongoing operational activities of the clinical faculty and clinical associate compensation structure for OHSU.

 

The position implements strategy in support of OHSU’s commitment to the development of consistent methodologies, tracking, and reporting of compensation and productivity of clinical physicians and APPs within OPP. They will support program management and provide partnership required for implementation, governance, and ongoing work related to the operational road map for compensation and productivity at OHSU.

 

This position will develop tracking tools to assess compensation and productivity related data to ensure adherence to OHSU guidelines and complete ongoing review of KPIs.

 

This position requires close collaboration with leaders in the clinical and basic science departments within the School of Medicine and across the health system including members of the Provost Office, Human Resources, Finance, Revenue Cycle, Information Technology, and other related departments to implement efficient and scalable business processes that are well understood.

Function/Duties of Position

Program Administration

  • The position will work within the OPP compensation team to coordinate and develop process for managing compensation arrangements in accordance with established compensation principles.
  • Develop and implement a system for tracking all department related compensation plans, benchmarks, targets, and salary/pay tables.
  • Translate written documentation into discrete data points for tracking and reporting.
  • Provide routine reporting related to compliance with compensation principles and take steps to investigate discrepancies. 

Change Management

  • This position utilizes best practices to develop and implement strategies to create organization in support of OHSU’s commitment to clinical operations, compensation principles, and financial sustainability.
  • This position will participate in group discussion and present tactical information as needed to leadership and user groups across OHSU for program success. 

Program Advocacy

  • This position will build relationships and work with key stakeholders in School of Medicine, OPP, Central Financial Services, Human Resources, and Information Technology Group.
  • Build relationships with mission stakeholders to understand program impacts in research, academic and healthcare areas and participate in various meetings to understand what additional tools and resources are needed.
  • Responsible for staying informed on changes across the organization that could impact the success of this program.

Metrics and Feedback Mechanisms

  • Track and report on metrics for various OHSU benchmarking activities.
  • Create surveys or other feedback mechanisms to track the areas for improvements and successes of the program over time.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of related program/project management experience.

  • At least two years of supervisory or management experience

  • Proficiency in Excel and development of complex workbooks

  • Prior experience with SmartSheet

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and facilitate discussions

  • Professional and attentive customer service skills 

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task and manage many competing demands and multiple projects 

  • A sense of urgency, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills 

  • Understanding of the tools and technologies used for remote work

  • Ability to work independently and at times with ambiguity

  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Compensation related experience

  • Familiarity with wRVUs as a measure of productivity
