Department Overview
Doernbecher (DCH) 9S Pediatric Acute Care Surgical (PACS) is a 24-bed unit providing evidence-based, acute care for pediatric patients and their families from birth to young adulthood. Services that admit to DCH 9S PACS include and are not limited to: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Urology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and General Peds overflow. Our Vision: DCH 9S PACS faces all endeavors with a growth mindset and a people-centered approach to provide excellent care to our patients and support a healthy workplace.Our Mission: DCH 9S PACS is a people-centered, interdisciplinary, team-based system of coordinated patient care. The team will provide individualized, excellent care for all pediatric patients by working together with departments and specialists across Doernbecher and OHSU to ensure every patient and family receive the right care, at the right place and at the right time by the right people.
Function/Duties of Position
- Assist with the admitting and discharge
- Obtain accurate vital signs and weight
- Complete all unit specific CNA documentation in the patient’s medical record related to: admissions, daily care, vital signs, weight, intake and output, discharge, etc.
- Assist the patient with any and all basic hygiene, lifting, transport, dietary support, and other personal needs and medical necessities
- Support patient and family centered care
- Report potential compliance problems as outlined in the Code of Conduct
- Model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance, and personal integrity
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Oregon CNA1 Certification at time of hire
- BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation.
