The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute seeks a recognized physician-scientist to serve in Breast Cancer Research and Clinical Care. This prestigious leadership position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of breast cancer research, clinical innovation, and programmatic growth within one of the nation's leading NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
This position is eligible for endowment from the Leonard Schnitzer Endowment, provided by the Schnitzer family. This generous endowment from such a prominent and generous family will provide the selected, qualified candidate with access to funds and will task them with marrying the Knight Cancer Institute’s mission of innovation and vision to expand OHSU’s breast cancer footprint, relevance in the market, and impact on patients. The successful applicant for this position will be nominated for this endowment, subject to OHSU policies governing such appointments, including length and term of the appointment, and subject to approval by the Dean of the School of Medicine and the OHSU Provost.

General:
Promote Discovery (Clinical, Translational, and Basic Research):
The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine and include: participate in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair; care of patients with breast cancer; establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of breast cancer; carry out basic research in division research space assigned by the Division Head; participate in administrative committees and councils of the OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head; engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head.
It is anticipated that the position will comprise the following components: clinical, teaching, research/academic, and inpatient service.
