Function/Duties of Position

The Department of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University seeks a post-doctoral fellow in clinical neuropsychology. This position is a two-year fellowship designed to meet INS-Division 40, Houston Conference Guidelines, and ABPP preparation guidelines.

Clinical opportunities are in the outpatient Neurology clinic, OHSU Deep Brain Stimulation Clinic, the Oregon Parkinson’s Center, and the OHSU Layton Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Fellows are expected to independently perform clinical interviews, test administration, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and feedback to patients under supervision.

The goal of the program is to train fellows to an advanced level of competence with the aim of pursuing board certification in neuropsychology, with a primary emphasis in the assessment of older adults and related neurodegenerative disorders. Approximately 70% of the fellow’s responsibility is taken up with clinical activities, 20% in research, and 10% in educational activities (e.g., seminars, case conferences, grand rounds). Fellows are expected to engage in neuropsychology-related research within the Department of Neurology. Our department is involved in numerous large-scale funded projects examining healthy aging, measurement of reliable cognitive change, movement disorders, and dementia in older adults. There will be expectations and opportunities for publishing results and presenting at conferences. There may be opportunities to provide supervision to junior trainees in a vertical team.

To be considered, please upload the following applications materials:

  1. Cover letter describing your neuropsychology-related experience, your research interests, your professional goals, and why you are interested in the program.
  2. Curriculum vitae that includes awarded or expected date of doctoral degree conferral.
  3. Two de-identified neuropsychological reports, each reflecting a different neuropsychological condition or issue.
  4. Two letters of recommendation, including at least one from an internship clinical supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology
  • Completion of APA accredited doctoral program and clinical internship
