Department Overview

The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. Function/Duties of Position

  • Measure pH and DO vs. sediment depth with microelectrodes
  • Figure out how to measure Fe(II) using Hach colorimetric methods.
  • Re-establish HPLC method for TPA in water samples
  • Use TPA method to measure OH vs. depth in microcosms.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours)

  • Technical record keeping, reporting, time and project maintanence.

  • Basic environmental chemistry

  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Additional Details

  • All of the work will be performed in the wet-lab space on HRC-3. It will involve using electrodes to measure pH, dissolved oxygen, etc. No travel, no hazardous materials.
  • Possibly moving and switching tanks for compressed gas (after training).
