The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.
System/Application Support
Project Management
Responsible for implementing Departmental Healthcare Information Systems by developing detailed project plans with dependencies and critical path tasks using the ITG Project Management tools, JIRA, Smart Sheet, MS Teams and MS Project.
Track and assign tasks to team members, vendors and customers with follow up to assure that tasks are completed on schedule.
Identifies project and task completion milestones and reports to management when they are not met or are at risk.
Schedule and prepare relevant meeting materials to conduct progress meetings.
Provide project progress reports to management.
Responsible for coordinating and communicating all tasks associated with all aspects of the project from phone lines and power sources, server delivery and configuration to back-up plans and disaster recovery priorities.
Business Analysis
Confers with hospital department managers, supervisors, line staff and ITG support staff to develop system specifications for Clinical Information Systems.
Assist in identifying RFP’s and coordinating resources for review.
Assist with Cost Benefit Analysis and assist in evaluating and selecting the best alternatives.
Works with customers, vendors and ITG to identify hardware and software resources needed to implement new systems.
Meets with customers on a regular basis to review current system performance and identify, prioritize and manage related ITG projects. Identify opportunities to streamline, consolidate, and enhance system performance
Systems Analysis
Oversee the server, database, and application/desktop integration and security in the OHSU/Partners computing environment.
Understand and recommend the deployment of application software for thin or fat clients.
Understand multiple operating systems for monitoring system activity. Understand database structures.
Perform system analysis, specification, testing and validation for new system installations or upgrades, and for system-to-system interfaces between various clinical applications.
Support system to system interface implementation.
Coordinate the connectivity configurations of systems.
Develop system validation and documentation for testing new systems, new interfaces or version upgrades.
Develop training material and train customers on various components of the application.
Train operations and help desk staff as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years of work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operations healthcare environments; OR
Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years of work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience
Two or more years of paid work experience as a Systems/Application Analyst or Application Administrator.
Successful candidates must have experience and working knowledge in operating system software, relational and/or hierarchical databases, and technical application support for administrative and clinical systems.
