Department Overview

Oregon Health and Sciences University seeks applicants for full-time Assistant Professor of Molecular and Medical Genetics position at our facility in Portland, Oregon. The primary responsibilities will include participation in clinical care in outpatient and inpatient metabolic and genetics programs. The services span pediatric and adult patients. This position also provides teaching of graduate and medical students, residents, and fellows. Includes 2 trips per year of 2 days each in April and October to provide care at OSHU's outreach clinic in Medford, OR.

Function/Duties of Position

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

 

As a member of the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics you will report to the Department Chair, and will be responsible for duties in the areas outlined. Pursue and execute scholarly and service activities including instruction, clinical practice, community service and administrative duties for the department; instruct medical, dental, nursing, graduate students, and house staff; engage in scholarly research activities directed towards the understanding, detection, and treatment of disease; serve on School and OHSU committees as approved by the Chair; engage in such public service as will benefit the community and the University; and serve in such administrative functions as may be assigned by the Chair. 

Required Qualifications

-MD or foreign equivalent

-Fellowship in Genetics or Genetics-related Subspecialty

-Valid Oregon Medical License

-ABMGG Clinical Genetics and Genomics Certification and ABMGG Medical Biochemical Genetics Certification or eligibility for these certifications
