The Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN) was established in 2002 at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. ORPRN's mission is to improve health for all Oregonians through community engaged research, education, and health systems transformation. ORPRN facilitates a broad variety of clinical health care research, quality improvement projects, and practice transformation efforts in rural Oregon, and across the state. ORPRN is committed to building and sustaining a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist organization. We do so by evaluating how we develop and support our workforce, the partnerships we uphold and how we engage in our work throughout Oregon.
The Oregon ECHO Network (OEN) is a project within ORPRN’s Education program. The OEN serves as a statewide utility for ECHO programs and services. Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) is a telementoring model that supports clinicians, clinical teams, and other participants to expand their skills and knowledge in areas they would typically refer to specialty care. Program topics range from clinical topics, such as psychiatric medication management and addictions, to community health worker training and practice transformation. Each ECHO session includes a brief didactic presentation and offers practical, de-identified case-based learning.
