The Ambulatory Infusion Clinics provide infusion and injection services to patients referred from a variety of specialties including but not limited to: Rheumatology, Neurology, Dermatology, Cardiology and other non-oncology service lines. The infusion staff work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidenced-based, patient centered infusion therapies. The ten ambulatory non-oncology infusion chairs at the Center for Health & Healing 1 and six chairs at Immunology infusion Physicians Pavilion are open Monday to Friday.
Ambulatory Infusion Clinic Nurses assess patients at their infusion appointment for medical preparedness to receive their prescribed therapy. They engage in multidisciplinary communication with providers Monday through Friday to develop and implement patient infusion plans with input from various other disciplines. The clinic nurse is responsible for initiating, administration of approved infusion therapies, monitor labs associated with approved infusion plans and patient education at the conclusion of their visit.
The ambulatory infusion clinic nurse works directly with the patient and family, members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure they are educated on the infusion therapy and to monitor for signs and symptoms of hypersensitivity and when to seek elevated medical treatment.
Ambulatory infusion clinic nurses staff both Physicians Pavilion 4 in the Rheumatology Infusion room and at the Ambulatory Infusion Clinic South Waterfront location at Center for Health and Healing Building 1 on the 7th floor.
