The Research Data Analyst I supports research activities for an employment and perinatal health project through research data management, statistical analysis, data visualization, and interpretation of quantitative research data. Under general supervision, the incumbent collaborates on the design, documentation, testing, implementation, and analysis of research studies. The position assists with maintaining research data systems, preparing reports and visualizations, and communicating research findings to support project goals and dissemination activities.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Conduct research data management activities including data cleaning, validation, coding, quality assurance, and maintenance of research databases and datasets.   
  • Conduct statistical analyses under supervision using appropriate software and prepare analytic outputs; assist with interpretation of research findings.    
  • Assist with preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and other dissemination materials.  
  • Conduct literature reviews relevant to project aims.    

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, psychology, sociology, health sciences, or a related field;

    OR

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field AND two years of relevant research or data analysis experience.    

  • Knowledge of research methodology and statistical analysis.

  • Proficiency with statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, Python, or equivalent.

  • Ability to manage, organize, validate, and analyze research datasets.

  • Ability to prepare reports, charts, tables, and data visualizations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently on assignments of moderate scope while collaborating effectively with investigators and research staff.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.    

  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD student
  • Experience working with survey, administrative, or public health data.
  • Experience conducting quantitative analyses and interpreting results.
  • Experience managing and maintaining research datasets.
  • Graduate training in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related field.

  • Experience with manuscript preparation and scientific dissemination.

  • Experience with population health, health services, or public health research.

Additional Details

  • Work is primarily performed in an office, academic, or remote work environment with extensive computer use. Occasional attendance at meetings, trainings, conferences, or project-related activities may be required.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively with research team members and stakeholders. Ability to transport routine office materials and equipment.
