Department Overview

This position provides a range of human resources support to OHSU employees and HR Centers of Excellence to ensure consistent, timely and accurate completion of assignments and excellent customer service.  The position is responsible for a variety of HR Service Center related tasks with primary focus on pre-employment testing (backgrounds and drug testing).  Other duties include assisting New Hires with I-9 completion, supporting departments with various HR questions, providing employees tier 1 and 2 HR customer service, providing education for benefits enrollment and annual activities.  Pull documents for employees, managers, and Legal.  HR Service Center Associates defer complex issues to the HRSC Leads and/or the specialized COEs.  This position is required to be on campus part time.

Function/Duties of Position

  • TCAP: Support various Missions with pre-employment tests including Drug test and Background Check.  Partner with our BGC vendor on changes, upgrades, trouble-shooting, etc.  Partner with TA on process flow and individual case outcomes.  Partner with hiring managers and candidates to ensure the process retains its integrity and compliance.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for general human resources questions, employee concerns that arise, providing high-level and sensitive support to managers, supervisors, employees and applicants on a variety of human resources matters. Respond to basic questions in HR ticketing system and associated group email boxes and act when necessary.  Direct employees to appropriate resources. Forward more complex requests to COEs for resolution; Assist employees and redirect calls as needed on the HR phone queue.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Projects will be assigned to HR Service Center Associates (TCAP) in specific areas to enhance their knowledge of HR programs and support the various COEs.  

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of general office or secretarial experience or 
    equivalent combination of training and experience
  • MS Office Suite skills, including intermediate Excel skills
  • Customer service skills – sensitivity to employees with diverse needs and circumstances

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in HR department
  • 2 years of support or customer service work in an office setting
  • Knowledge of Oracle
  • Knowledge of OnBase
  • Webpage maintenance

Additional Details

  • Standard office/phone hours of M-Th: 8:00-4:00, Fr: 8:00-1:00.  Work hours M-F: 8:00 – 4:00
