Function/Duties of Position

Two NIH-funded Postdoctoral Research positions to investigate the mechanisms that control T cell activation, trafficking, and function during viral and parasitic infections are immediately available in Dr. Jeff Nolz’s laboratory at Oregon Health & Science University.


Current projects include:

  1. Mechanisms that control T cell trafficking into non-lymphoid tissues
  2. Differentiation of tissue-resident memory T cells within non-lymphoid tissue microenvironments
  3. T cell activation, differentiation, and function during cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis

Responsible for:

  • Designing and performing laboratory experiments
  • Generally maintaining laboratory and research space, laboratory notebooks and logs, etc.
  • Participating in lab meetings, making contributions and submitting research for publication, submitting applications for research funding, presenting research at seminars, poster sessions and conferences

Required Qualifications

  • Recently completed PhD or MD/PhD training or equivalent
  • Demonostrated evidence of having strong research interest in and solid understanding of basic Immunology
  • Independent research ability and strong publication record
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Microbiology or Immunology
  • Previous experience using mouse models of infection
