This position provides expertise in reporting, analyzing and interpreting of Human Resources data.  Responsibilities will include developing, testing and deploying complex reporting, analytic and dashboard solutions utilizing the functionality of IBM Cognos Suite, Data Warehouse modelling, SQL, Excel and other BI tools. This position requires an in-depth knowledge and the ability to design detailed solutions involving calculated fields, query joins and merging data from different data sources.

 

This position will continuously engage with stakeholders to provide support, guidance and training regarding the interpretation and use of the data and analytics.  Through effective use of analytics and reporting this position will help the institution identify systems, processes, procedures that perpetuate inequality, and enable proactive data-driven decisions across the institution.

• Collaborate with customers and HR Reporting team members to understand business requirements and design, develop, implement and support complex solutions.
• Develop, maintain and monitor metrics, dashboards, and recurring reports to measure current and desired state, and incorporate into future strategy and initiatives.

• Working with complex data sets this position will derive data-driven insights and analysis to provide HR and OHSU leadership with outcome and trending analysis to drive workforce planning, management and strategy.

• Proactively identify opportunities for reporting solutions to meet business needs and strategic initiatives and create proposals and accompanying technical and functional specification documentation.
• Management of small projects involving systems and reporting solutions that have implications for ongoing anti-racism, workforce planning, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts throughout the institution.
• Develop and manage project plans and other project deliverables utilizing various project methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and sponsors to identify key metrics, performance indicators and other project deliverables.
• Create and deliver presentations interpreting and educating OHSU leadership, Human Resources and other departments and individuals on metrics and analytics.

 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of experience with database query, analytic and reporting tools including three years with Cognos.
• Three years of experience managing technical projects.
• Ability to use current enterprise BI tools to write complex reports including joining data from different systems and external data sources.
• Experience creating interactive dashboards and other data vizualization solutions.
• Strong problem solver who can evaluate a situation and ask the critical questions to understand the problem and then select a solution resulting in problem resolution.
• Good organization, follow through and time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority while professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.

• Human Resources experience that demonstrates understanding of the administrative systems, processes and human resources functional areas.
• Power BI experience.
• Smartsheet experience
