The OHSU Proteomics Shared Resource (PSR) facility was established to make state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based protein analysis analytical capabilities available to the biomedical research community at OHSU. The PSR provides services to both internal and external clients outside OHSU, including supporting ophthalmological and cancer research by members of the Casey Eye and Knight Cancer Institutes. The PSR Research Associate (RA) will prepare samples for analysis, develop new methods of sample preparation, analyze samples using mass spectrometry, analyze data, provide result summaries to clients, and fully document all experimental work and procedures. They will also prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs); perform maintenance on mass spectrometry instrumentation, train clients on instrument operation and sample preparation, and assist in preparation of methods sections for manuscripts and grants. They will be expected to manage multiple projects within timelines assigned by the director and maintain high scientific and ethical standards. Working collaboratively with team members, the RA will promote a culture of transparency and traceability across all aspects of laboratory operations.
