Operations
- Manages and supervises departmental staff by confirming, validating and teaching staff to uphold the department mission: provide an exceptional patient experience; ensure a clean environment that does not contribute to the spread of healthcare associated infection; and to facilitate timely patient flow.
- Ensures staffing assignments are complete to avoid missed assignments and/or unnecessary use of premium pay.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the hospital bed tracking system (Epic) and ensures response times are met.

- Responsible for the comprehensive nutritional assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, and nutrition monitoring and evaluation of OHSU patients. Assessments are developed from defined clinical criteria/data and are documented in the patient's medical record. Develops nutrition care plans to manage nutrition care for disease states, prevent complications, reduce morbidity and mortality due to malnutrition or change in feeding modality. Monitors progress of patients on implemented nutrition plans.

This position works on research aimed at understanding the effects of changes to the environment and behaviors on sleep and circadian rhythms and the subsequent impact on physiology and pathophysiology in humans. Specifically, this research is investigating the adverse health effects of shift work including the body’s response to stressors at night, the use of cannabis and related projects as sleep aids, and how sleep and circadian rhythms may contribute to racial disparities in health.
