- Dissects and prepares biopsies and other non-complex surgical resections, prepares and processes frozen tissue including slide preparation and dictates gross descriptions per surgical pathology manual.
- Provide various supportive functions such as grossing bench/instrument maintenance and decontamination, specimen accessioning, hazardous waste removal, specimen triage, labeling of Pathology materials and specimen transport, etc.
- Performs proper handling, storage and disposal of surgical tissue while adhering to the regulatory and compliance standards regarding biohazard and safety. Disposes of biohazardous waste materials and maintains chemical waste storage areas.
