- Customer Service: Provide the highest level of customer service to both external customers (patients and their families, referring providers, insurance carriers, etc.) and internal customers (OHSU health care providers and staff) that meets or exceeds the service standards of the health care industry. - Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots simulation equipment, manikins, and associated technology to support high-quality, simulation-based education.
- Acts as the voice of the manikin during simulation scenarios, delivering realistic verbal responses and feedback to enhance learner engagement.
- Coordinates with the Standardized Patient (SP) scheduler for hifidelity simulation, supporting communication, and scheduling requests, for integration of SPs into simulation events.

Patient Registration
- Perform established patient search methods for medical record number in computer database.
- Properly identify and arrive patients that arrive in the ED whether it is a walk in or by ambulance.

These functions are performed at stationary computer terminals or at patient’s bedside using a mobile computer terminal, occasionally over the phone. Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide. Research at the OHSU-SOD will include not only basic bench work in the laboratory but also learning how to design experiments: Independently using instrumentation and performing basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting and buffering solutions with a pH meter Generating and analyzing data from experiments and collected health surveys This will include lab meetings and learning how to keep a lab notebook and daily log of activities.
