Patient Monitoring - Tech documents a comprehensive patient history including Neurological symptoms and medications. Measures and accurately applies electrodes in less than 30mins and with appropriate impedance of <5kohms. Tech is able to use multiple electrode application techniques; observes, records, and attempts to eliminate artifact and body movements that can affect recording of cerebral activity, and prepares a technical report. Learns and applies basic EEG waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, current HIPAA practices, and contraindications for activation procedures. This tech is occasionally paired with senior techs to learn and perform more complex recordings in the clinical setting. EEG Examinations - This tech performs routine and long-term EEG procedures under indirect supervision and in accordance with the standards and protocols of the department. Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings. Observes and records conditions and reactions of patients during exam; notes extraneous conditions which may affect recording; operates equipment; notes body movements for benefit of interpretation by neurologist. Equipment Maintenance - Maintains clean testing equipment, maintains proper sanitization of supplies and surrounding area, and reports equipment malfunctions in writing to our engineer. Miscellaneous - Performs tests for research purposes; prepares reports of recordings for interpretation by physician; edits, types, archives and stores files in accordance to lab policy. Informs lead tech when supplies and equipment need to be reordered. This technologist is able to communicate appropriately and effectively with the patient to convey the purpose of the EEG, and answer questions surrounding the test. Understands why and how to troubleshoot common EEG artifacts and protocols with a conscious effort to maintain safety standards. Customer Satisfaction - Follows OHSU’s customer service philosophy, and follows AIDET forms of communication. Works to understand and correct the most common customer service complaints. Follows customer service satisfaction scores and helps the department to achieve the highest level scores possible by working to become a leader in customer service.

The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has an outstanding opportunity for a BE/BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist interested in serving at the Unity Center for Behavioral Health, a 22-bed CAP Psychiatric Unit in a larger hospital which includes 80 Adult beds and a Psychiatric Emergency Service in Portland, Oregon. Unity Center is a collaborative effort to address the mental health needs of the community. OHSU’s Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with other major Oregon health systems, uses a non-coercive, highly community-oriented treatment program, which will prevent hospitalization when possible, and return patients to community services as soon as feasible. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic child and adolescent psychiatrist to treat, teach, and advance their academic interests. The incumbent will work as a full-time Pediatric Inpatient Physician at the Unity Center for Behavioral Health.  As part of your duties and base pay at Unity Center, you will be expected to take regular nightly pager call duties at Unity Center, in addition to covering weekend calls, as assigned, with other faculty on weekends and holidays, up to 10 weekends in a year. You may work more weekends if you are interested. For weekend or holiday calls, you will be paid at a per diem rate. The incumbent will be allowed approximately 0.1 FTE time to pursue academic interests of their choosing, including clinical program development, curriculum development, or scholarship, typically one full day every two weeks. The hospital also serves as a major training site for the department’s child psychiatric fellowship training program, in addition to OHSU medical students and other health professional trainees. The incumbent will be expected to teach child psychiatric fellows, psychiatric residents, NP students, and medical students in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the year in support of this mission.

Additionally, the Web Development and Engineering Supervisor leads the technical strategy for the Digital Strategy team, providing direction in development and engineering approaches, solution planning, and technical decision-making.   The Web Development and Engineering Supervisor will: - Provide direct supervision, guidance and assistance to the development and engineering team to help them navigate the development process efficiently. - Serve as the technical lead on web initiatives, translating business and user needs into functional requirements, blueprints, prototypes, and other working models that define technical architecture and product specifications. - Assist in maintaining focus on desired outcomes and facilitating the completion of tasks to reach milestones. - Manage blockers effectively to ensure uninterrupted progress and adherence to development schedules and deadlines. - Assume responsibility for identifying blockers that are outside the team’s direct influence and openly communicate them to the Manager of Digital Strategy; Collaborate with the manager to address blockers and explore opportunities for improvement. - Actively participate in sprint planning and sprint reviews, ensuring that value is clearly being described and direction set. - Facilitate productive sprint retrospectives to derive actionable outcomes for continuous improvement. - Assist in troubleshooting and resolving coding or design issues as they arise. - Contribute to final product testing to ensure functionality and compliance with requirements and quality of team deliverables. - Consult with Digital Strategy support team members on reported bugs and issues. - Monitor metrics for measuring web development and engineering team effectiveness and provide reports to the manager.   As a member of the Digital Strategy leadership, you will work with, or on behalf of, a diverse set of OHSU stakeholders, including healthcare, faculty, staff and OHSU leadership to develop professional, quality websites in OHSU’s enterprise environments. The Veterinary Research/Health Technician 1 assists in providing research support, health care and animal husbandry for animals maintained at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. The primary function of this position is to perform the manual and technical tasks directly related to the care of, and research support for the use of, laboratory animals.  The area of work assignment and specific tasks will vary, depending on animal populations and care requirements, service requirements, and staffing needs, during regular and non-regular working hours, including weekends, holidays, or on an overtime basis. Duties must be performed in a professional manner and will require contact with investigative staff. This classification is distinguished by the increased responsibility and accountability related to animal care protocols, and accountabilities related to support of research protocols. May require working an ABSL3 environment.    Research oriented duties: Assist with, and coordinate and complete, a large volume of tasks involving animal research to meet investigator requests. Follow various complex research protocols and perform technical skills in a variety of investigative procedures, as determined by research protocols. Technical duties: Assist with and safely perform, under supervision (and using proper techniques), standard research support procedures on animals, including but not limited to venipuncture, medication dose calculations; administration of medications via intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and oral routes; collection of body fluids; perform animal health management procedures such as weighing, TB testing, and blood collections; capture, restraint, identification, and sexing of all common varieties of laboratory animals, and transportation of animals for various reasons; clinical, research support and housing needs. Observe animals in all housing configurations, recognize abnormalities in physical condition or behavior, and report and record observations to the clinical veterinarian or research staff. Animal husbandry procedures, including but not limited to: routine feeding and cleaning of animal enclosures;  perform routine sanitization tasks related to animal primary housing, shelters, equipment and facilities; sweep, mop, scrub, wash, and disinfect floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, and other equipment; operate equipment, including but not limited to cage washers, floor scrubbers, autoclaves, pressure washers, scales and veterinary care instruments; complete and submit data processing forms; use computer keyboards to access and/or input information from computerized animal record files; complete inventory and supply request forms; assist with facility maintenance, including but not limited to replacing drinking water valves, simple surface preparation, replace lighting tubes or bulbs, etc.; recognize and report problems with facilities, such as inappropriate room temperatures, leaking or broken water pipes, plugged drains, damaged surfaces, etc.; unload and store animal feed (feed bags weight 25-50 lbs each);  assist with group-housed animal capture ("roundup") and processing.
