One senior research assistant position is available for a motivated candidate to join the Zhang laboratory in the Division of Oncological Science within the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). The Division of Oncological Science is a collaborative and multidisciplinary division with a broad range of expertise and well established research programs in the following four disciplines: cancer system biology, medicinal medicine, cancer data science, and cancer population science.   This position will assist in research that shows how temporal, spatial, and dose perturbation of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes predispose to leukemia development and how could we use the leukemia specific vulnerabilities, including the haploinsufficient phenotype observed in patients with chromosome and copy number deletions to develop synthesize lethal therapeutics. Develop and maintain participant eligibility and recruiting database for complex therapeutic interventional clinical trials. Prepare regulatory submissions for IRB, FDA, ICH, and HHS (as required).  Draft regulatory documents and Case Report Forms (CRFs) for new and ongoing studies (informed consent, protocol amendments, recruiting materials, child assents, etc.).   Independently manage, collect, and maintain study data including: processing of raw data prior to third-party analysis, complete and submit electronic and paper CRF’s, and document research visits in EMR.   Enter medication orders for research products, imaging, laboratory tests, medications, and examinations.  Review patient medical records and document patient visits.  Measure and record vital signs in medical records.  Notify appropriate physician(s) of out-of-range laboratory results.   Develop policies/procedures to support group functionality, ensure all internal parties are regularly informed of process revisions and updates.   Record and maintain invoicing records and generate regularly scheduled invoices to study sponsors.   Compliance expectation: Performs requirements for Staff Members as outlined in Compliance Roles and Responsibilities in OHSU Hospitals and Clinics.  Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective, and professional manner. Clinical: This position is responsible for providing initial and ongoing care for patients with thyroid, parathyroid, and squamous cell cancer as part of a multidisciplinary clinic. 50% of the practice is expected to include endocrine surgery and provide radiofrequency ablation. This position will see patients at the Otolaryngology Beaverton Clinic Location 1-2 days a week and operate 3 days a month at the OHSU partner Hospital Hillsboro Medical Center. The position will be expected to take its fair share of calls, as assigned, with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays.   Education: OHSU is a teaching facility, and the position will expect to teach medical students and residents in the clinical setting and through assigned lectures given throughout the year.

This position provides the services of a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for supporting safe medication practices for patients who utilize services in the ambulatory hospital at Center for Health and Healing Buildings 1 and 2, receive infusions in Doernbecher Children's Hospital and OHSU Rheumatology Infusion Center. The pharmacist is responsible for the safe and proper distribution and use of medications in inpatients and outpatients who range in age from neonates, infants less than one year of age, children and adolescents ages 10-18, adults ages 19-65 and the elderly over age 65.    This position is to function at higher decision making and accountability levels regarding medication therapy, proactively affecting medication use by making recommendations at the time prescribing decisions are being made or, in some cases, making independent decisions about medication therapy in cooperation with other healthcare team members.  Additional services provided include facilitatation of medication reconciliation, discharge counseling, and medication delivery through coordination of care from admission to discharge.  The pharmacist must possess strong communication skills for patient education and work collaboratively with inpatient and outpatient interdisciplinary teams including but not limited to providers, nurses, case workers, pharmacists, and technicians, as well as, the teaching and precepting component of students, interns and/or residents.   This is a flexible model where coordination of care for the patient as he/she transitions from one aspect of the medication use system to another is integrated with traditionally centralized functions, such as order entry/verification.  This coordinated care model will continue to evolve as part of an integrated decentralized patient care practice.

The Pediatric Nephrology Division in the Department of Pediatrics at OHSU is recruiting for a Senior Clinical Research Assistant OR Clinical Research Associate position to assist with patient-oriented clinical research.   The researcher will assist in the planning, implementation, operation, and evaluation of all clinical aspects of clinical research projects. The Senior Research Assistant will be independently responsible for assigned research studies and will interact with internal departments and external sponsor representatives as applicable. The researcher is responsible for recruiting, screening, and consenting patients for clinical trials in either ambulatory or inpatient settings. The position will require clinical study coordination, including facilitating subject entry into research projects, follow-up visits, biological specimen handling, and case report form completion. The researcher will be responsible for data collection, monitoring of source documents, report generation, meeting with sponsor’s monitors, continuous quality assessment, application of protocol guidelines. The individual will work attend any training for the study and participate in all meetings by phone or zoom with sponsor related to the study. In addition, the individual will work collaboratively with other study coordinators, nursing, pharmacy, specialty service centers, and physician staff in the care, scheduling, and management of research subjects.   The Senior Research Assistant is independently responsible for regulatory compliance and IRB submissions related to assigned studies. The Senior Research Assistant will assist with preparing study budgets and work with the contracting team from study start-up to study clousre.  The Senior Research Assistant will assist in the supervision and professional development of Research Assistants, interns, volunteers, and students.   The Research Associate will assist with scholarly activites, such as data analysis, grant, abstract, and manuscript development, and research results dissemination and will also work closely with Pediatric Nephrology investigators to develop a fiscal plan for the research unit for the future. Also the Research Associate will be responsible for writing up policies and procedures for the research unit that are compatible with OHSU policies.

- Performs receiving, stocking, data entry, picking, delivery, and functions as necessary to ensure required daily tasks are completed on time, and sufficiently, to meet the customer’s needs for medical supplies and linen. - Performs requirements of, and maintains compliance with, organizational guidelines and policies. - Stocks and empties Scrub Avail dispensers and empty chute rooms as necessary to ensure an accurate and adequate supply of scrubs and linen are available to meet customer needs. - Performs preventive maintenance functions of the Pyxis/ParEx supply machines/areas as necessary to ensure accurate restocking and patient charging. - Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient working environment; Shelves: ensures shelves are properly erected, clean, neat, properly stocked, and marked with product information. Housekeeping: ensures the warehouse is clean, packaging removed, and non-stock products are neatly arranged. - Facilities: ensures facility deficiencies are reported. - Equipment: provides proper care and regular services to equipment, logs, and reports deficiencies. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Maintains knowledge of, adheres to, and knows the locations for, departmental policy, procedure, safety, and MSDS manuals.

Equipment: provides proper care and regular services to equipment, logs, and reports deficiencies.  - Performs other duties as assigned.  - Maintains knowledge of, adheres to, and knows the locations for, departmental policy, procedure, safety, and MSDS manuals.  - When tasked, drives organizational vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, assists Logistics Fleet and Warehouse supervisors with the maintenance and refueling, maintains driver's log, and fills out vehicle inspection reports as necessary. Have and maintain a valid driver's license. Maintain special equipment as assigned i.e. tire chains, inclement weather accessories, tire jacks, etc. Performs emergency roadside service to vehicles such as changing a flat tire.
