This position provides clinical veterinary care for a large (4,500) nonhuman primate colony housed at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. The unit manages a daily caseload including inpatient and outpatient cases, and contributes to other preventive care and research support programs such as weight management, annual and semi-annual examinations, dental prophylaxis, and a wide variety of specific research colonies including all age groups and disease statuses. The unit provides occasional coverage for the Small Laboratory Animal Unit.

RN case managers assess patients on admission for available family support, insurance resources, and potential discharge planning needs. They engage in daily multidisciplinary rounds Monday through Friday to develop and implement patient discharge plans with input from various other disciplines. The RN case manager is responsible for coordinating post-acute and discharge needs in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Using established criteria to determine appropriateness of continued hospital stay, RN case managers work with payors on obtaining needed authorizations for ongoing hospitalization and/or identified post-acute needs.

We are expanding our general radiology services as part of the Community Division of OHSU at HMC. This is a direct hospital-employed position with no partnership track or buy-in requirement, offering a private practice-style environment with academic health system benefits.
We are a shift-based practice and all shift types are equally and equitably distributed across radiologists. A 1.0 FTE radiologist has a 180 shift target per year. Hours are generally 8 am to 4:30 pm with overnight nighthawk coverage from 6 pm to 8 am. Call is equally distributed among the group, prorated for FTE, and weekend call shifts are from 8 am to 6 pm.
