- Behavioral Health Counseling: provide motivational interviewing (MI) and SUDs counseling relating to various behavioral health needs (i.e., mental health, substance use, complex psychosocial needs, grief support, mandatory reporting, trauma); performs triage, warm hand-offs, risk assessment, short-term psychotherapeutic counseling and/or crisis intervention, ED/hospitalization discharge outreach, and care management services. The CEDAR Clinical Research Coordinator works with a team to manage and conduct early detection clinical trials in a diverse population. This includes working closely with a team of research coordinators to identify and enroll qualified healthy individuals for cancer screening trials, conduct research visits to collect biological speceimens, and return cancer detection results to participants; while ensuring protocol is conducted in accordance with applicable NCI and FDA guidelines.  The study coordinator will also assist in developing recruitment plans and assist in outreach events in the community to reach a diverse population for recruitment, and support subsites in Oregon to expand our reach of clinical trials.     Duties Include but are not limited to: Participant Coordination - Participate in recruitment activities to include community outreach and flyer distribution, includes some weekend and evening events. - Contact and enroll subjects by reviewing patient data to determine appropriate eligibility and scheduling eligible participants. - Conduct study visits in adherence with protocol parameters and appropriate training, to include consenting, taking a medical history, and the procurement and processing human biological specimens. Obtain and submit imaging studies, pathology samples as required by sponsor to appropriate reviewers as required by protocol. Review and report adverse events or unanticipated Problems to IRB/study sponsor. - Perform other procedures as required by protocol, to include annual follow up, chart review/abstractions, return test results, and assistance with scheduling diagnostic procedures. All procedures and process require data entry into appropriate systems. Maintain and update subject data for study analysis. Assist investigators with any special requests for data retrieval and/or evaluation and analysis of clinical data for ongoing research studies. Clinical Trial coordination - Work with regulatory management team and colleagues to adhere to regulations at OHSU for good clinical practices of clinical trials. - Be knowledgeable about clinical research protocols and protocol requirements. - Distribute clinical research related information to appropriate research team / affiliated institutional personnel as applicable. The Practice Manager participates in construction, tracking, and implementation of the annual budget and strategic plan. The Practice Manager supervises Back and Front Office Supervisors, RN’s and Behavorial Health staff along with all front and back-office staff directly or indirectly in a manner consistent with the philosophy and leadership of OHSU, Family Medicine and the Scappoose Health Center. The Practice Manager is on Call 24/7 for potential clinic and safety issues needing prompt attention. The Clinic is open 8-8 M-F and Saturdays 9AM-1PM.  Budget responsibility: 48 FTE, $8 million expenses, annual visits 35,000 for 12,500 patients.   1. Clinical Practice Management: - Develops, maintains, and implements practice policies and procedures. A key leader of transformative changes to the care delivery model as it is adapted to the rapidly changing health care environment.  Provides leadership on development and implementation of standards of practice. - Leads and participates on committees. Ensures practice compliance with regulatory requirements. - Oversees inventory of all supplies and equipment. - Serves as liaison in coordination of support services for practice operations. - Leads and/or assists with implementation of grants and projects. - Demonstrates knowledge of standards developed by organizations monitoring patient care including, but not limited to DNV and CLIA. The Laboratory Assistant supports the Knight Diagnostic Laboratory by performing duties such as printing labels/slides, scanning H&Es, performing WBCs, quantitating DNA/RNA, cleaning instruments, managing inventory, and other duties to assure the laboratory's smooth day-to-day operation.   Duties Include but are not limited to: - Assisting Histopathology Shared Resources in clinical workflows including but not limited to: Printing labels and slides for new cases and stained slides and label accurately. Scanning H&E and IHC slides, checking blocks and slides for accuracy to confirm each block and case match. Setting up the bench station for the tech including turning on autostainer, remove lids and fill water bath. Coverslip stained slides. Contacting EHS for waste pickup. Moving samples and supplies between HSR and KDL. - Performs leukocyte cell counts using Sysmex 300, including daily QC using commercial standards and complete documentation of target values.  Assesses DNA/RNA sample quantity and quality as appropriate using Qubit/Qubit Flex and performs QC.  Create normalized DNA aliquots and manage long-term sample storage. - Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies for the laboratory.  Make and aliquot reagents used in the laboratory per protocol.  - Monitor temperatures for incubators, refrigerators, and freezers.  Monitor eye wash stations and diH2O purity. - Retrieve specimens and/or charts as needed by technologists and director.  Assist technologists and directors with miscellaneous tasks as requested.  Follows established safety procedures in all areas of the lab.

OR surgery scheduling/care coordination for SOR, CHH, DCH - Receive surgery requests (Consult to OR) via Epic work queues - Schedule pre-op/post-op, Pre-Medicine Clinic and pre-surgery COVID test appointments - Communicate surgery logistics to patients via phone/MyChart - Submit surgery case to OR scheduling department via Epic - Monitor SOR, CHH and DCH grids to maintain accurate, up-to-date Outlook calendars for each department - Notify external vendors and OR schedulers to ensure that all necessary equipment is availability - Coordinate with OHSU co-surgeons and their practice surgery schedulers and other internal and external care providers/departments as needed for medical clearance prior to surgery and postoperative care following surgery - Communicate and coordinate with CWH/OHSU social workers, caregivers, residential facility staff etc. to arrange for medical transportation to surgery and related appointments and ensure appropriate lodging/RPV accommodations have been made - Ensure that the appropriate medical orders are in place for surgery-related care (imaging, lab work, referrals, etc.) - Ensure that all medical records are in place as requested by surgeon and obtain medical records, as needed - Document all information and/or any surgery-specific changes/updates in Consult to OR referral notes - Educate and communicate with patient and clinic staff regarding current CWH and OHSU policies related to surgery - Manage, release, and transfer OR blocks and add-on requests via iQueue and Epic - Apply problem solving and negotiating skills in resolving provider and patient concerns and other surgery related problems. This position exists within the School of Medicine at OHSU in the Department of Neurology Financial Support Unit.  The purpose of this position is to support the administrative functions of the BENFRA Botanical Dietary Supplements Research Center and a clinical trial funded by the Alzheimers Association.  The administrative coordinator will follow business office policies and procedures and will provide guidance to faculty in this program.  The administrative coordinator will set up, attend and take notes at regular committee meetings, assist with updates to the BENFRA website and cloud database and assist with financial reporting, ordering of supplies and spending for both grants.  The adminitrative coordinator will also assist with clinical trial data entry and participant recruitment and scheduling activities.

Enrollment Process: - Utilize Health Information Systems to analyze and investigate practitioner information, and distribute provider credentialing and enrollment packets in coordination with HMC Medical Affairs Program, meeting established policies and procedures. Prepare and distribute practitioner and facility data, complying with the requirements outlined by state government, federal government, and commercial carriers. Perform data entry of sensitive provider information in federal and state provider enrollment systems. - This process requires knowledge of legal, federal, state, and HMC/OHSU requirements; the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS); licensing boards; MSOW; the Oregon Practitioner Credentialing Application (OPCA); the Provider Enrollment Chain and Ownership System (PECOS); the CMS Identity and Access Management System; and, Washington’s ProviderOne. Collaborate with HMC designated Medical Affairs Program and HMC departments to achieve accurate credentialing, timely enrollment, and compliant billing status. - Troubleshoot problem claims in EPIC work queues. Maintain positive relations with insurance carriers to assist with timely reimbursement, problem solving, and plan participation. Perform timely annual enrollment and termination of residents and fellows. File Maintenance: - Collect and maintain appropriate provider documentation and licensure, perform manual enrollment processes, and facilitate practitioner payer re-credentialing and revalidations. Update and maintain practitioner and facility database as a central resource for HMC, and OHSU Health Plan, including department and billing personnel. Document, maintain and understand regulatory requirements for governmental and commercial payers.  Audits and Special Projects - Develop and update necessary workflows and documentation relevant to provider enrollment to improve effectiveness of department operations. Provide ad hoc reporting based on need or request. Participate in special claims correction projects related to enrollment. Promote and implement LEAN processes. Perform other duties as assigned.

Customer Service: - Provide high quality customer service to both external customers (patients, referring providers, insurance carriers) and internal customers (OHSU health care providers, staff) that meets or exceeds the service standards of the health care industry. This duty includes prompt and professional communication efforts, face-to-face customer contact skills, crisis management, standard complaint processing, flexible coverage of internal and external service needs, and the continuous application of process improvement methods and skills. Document accurately telephone calls from patients regarding requests for medication refills, complaints, general information inquiries, and urgent health care concerns.  Check patients in: - When the patient arrives for their appointment, the PAS greets the patients and confirm that an appointment has been kept. They will inspect insurance cards and/or authorization notices. Identify and collect deductible payments, co-payments, and deposits on services; provide receipts and complete necessary accounting procedures. Explain and satisfy any necessary patient signature requirements, verifies the demographics, Insurance, and appointment time. The PAS will also have the patient sign needed paperwork, and check the patient into the Epic Cadence system. The PAS may need to talk with the patient about Research Studies happening in the CWH, among other general information the patient may need. The PAS is also communicating with the Clinical Staff so they can communicate if Providers are running late, or need something additional from the patient. Schedule patient appointments: - The PAS also work in the Call Center within the CWH. In the Call Center, the PAS answers the incoming phone calls. They are scheduling appointments, sending in-basket and Telephone encounters to Nurse and Providers via the Epic system. They also will arrange patient transportation through OHSU's internal transportation systems when necessary and accommodate other special needs whenever possible (Language interpreters, Hearing impaired Interpreters, etc.). The PAS are also involved in obtaining prior medical records and images if appropriate. If needed, they follow-up and track requests for outside records.
