The purpose of this full-time position to assist with NIH-funded projects that aim to discover the genes that support rapid forms of synaptic plasticity, and determine how plasticity supports cognitive processing in the brain. The Jackman lab employs cutting-edge techniques to measure and manipulate brain activity in vivo, to record synaptic transmission in ex vivo tissue, and to evaluate animal behavior. The research assistant will contribute to ongoing projects as part of a team, manage animal husbandry and genotyping, and may have the opportunity to perform independent research on their own project.
