We are expanding our general radiology services as part of the Community Division of OHSU at Hillsboro Medical Center. Although general radiology coverage is expected, we are looking to complement our sub-specialty trained team, which includes Neuro, Body, MSK, and Cardiothoracic imaging trained radiologists.   Candidates should be comfortable reading all radiology modalities, including CT, US, and MRI as well as some mammography and PET scans; more specialized modality cases are typically read by the respective sub-specialty trained members of the practice. Light general radiology procedures are also performed, such as CT- and ultrasound-guided drainages/biopsies, arthrograms/joint injections, and breast biopsies. A separate IR service covers more specialized interventional procedures. Case mix is representative of a suburban community-based radiology practice. We are a shift-based practice with mostly 4-day work weeks (when fully staffed, 1-2 non-clinical days will be typical). All shift types are equally and equitably distributed across partners. Hours are generally 8 am to 4:30 pm with overnight nighthawk coverage from 6 pm to 8 am. Call is one in five with week-day call shift from 8 am to 6 pm and weekend call shifts also from 8 am to 6 pm. Additionally, we provide home workstations to allow for teleworking or “work from home” options on weekday and week-end call shifts if desired. The team covers one hospital and one imaging center in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Our laboratory studies to understand how pathogens use host factors to secure invasion, persistence, and propagation. We are especially interested in studying the roles of cellular lipids in bacterial and/or viral pathogenesis and their significance on innate and adaptive immunity. The main microbes we study include the bacterium M. tuberculosis and viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, flaviviruses (Zika virus, Dengue virus, etc.) and HIV. We employ new chemical probes such as multi-functional lipid analogs to investigate the mechanisms and pathways that control viral and bacterial pathogenesis.   Under the direction of the PI and research staff, the candidate is expected to independently carry out daily activities of the laboratory:   - Perform microscopy, phagocytosis and other molecular and biochemical techniques (cloning, microscopy, tissue culture, flow cytometry, etc) - Generate CRISPR/cas9 knockout cell lines (design sgRNA sequences, generate cell line that expresses Cas9, isolate clones and characterize knockout candidates) - Perform protein purifications in bacterial and mammalian system, especially various nanobodies - Ensure quality control of equipment, reagents, and cellular components - Ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagent.
